ACCOMMODATIONS

LIAHONA’s interior is finished in light mahogany with a satin varnish. The cabin sole is teak and holly covered with blue carpet that snaps down along the perimeter. The headliner is light and reflective with beautiful inlaid mahogany strips. Mahogany hand holds are well placed throughout the boat. All locker doors are flat panel mahogany with vents above the door openings. Hanging lockers are lighted. Stainless steel adjustable reading lights are above the nav station, berths, salon settees and over the aft double berth. Mood lighting is located under the main salon valance. Halogen overhead lights are placed throughout the boat. Beige colored curtains cover all hatches and opening ports, and there is blue ultrasuede upholstery in the salon and staterooms. Optional 5” thick sprung mattresses were ordered for the aft cabin berth. Headroom in the main salon is 6’5” and 6’ in the aft cabin passageway. Four dorade vents, twelve opening ports, four overhead hatches and seven Hella Turbo fans provide excellent ventilation.

The spacious forward stateroom provides an excellent space for guests to relax. The comfortable V-berth forward is surrounded by five lockers above and outboard along the hull side.  A removable cushioned board with infills the "V" when desired.  Lee cloths are fitted to the "V" berth for offshore sailing.  Excellent storage is available aft and to starboard in three tall lockers with shelves and three smaller lockers above and outboard. A large lighted hanging locker aft provides storage for foul weather gear. Inboard is a bench seat with storage below a lift top locker. The large foredeck hatch, two reading lamps and two overhead lights illuminate the space.  Two Hella cabin fans are fitted in this cabin.

Aft and to port in the forward stateroom is the ensuite head and separate shower stall . Easy to clean white fiberglass and laminate surfaces are the theme throughout the space. The counter with porcelain sink and single lever faucet stretches across the forward end of the compartment. A mirror is mounted above on the forward bulkhead. A large locker below provides excellent storage. Aft is the electric flush head. Two lockers with shelves are above and outboard. A teak grate covers the floor. Ventilation is provided by a opaque acrylic opening hatch, opening port and white Hella Turbo fan. Aft of the head is the large separate shower stall with folding plexiglass door. A single lever controls the articulating wand mounted on the inboard end of the compartment. Two lockers outboard provide additional storage.

Aft of the forward stateroom is LIAHONA's comfortable main salon . To port, the L-shaped settee with rounded seat back corner surrounds a large drop leaf table with a spirits’ locker at the center. Across the salon, the straight settee to starboard provides an excellent sea berth.  The hinged seatback is fitted with straps and brackets for use as an upper bunk.  Ample storage is easily accessed behind the seatback cushions of both settees. Outboard along the hull side is a narrow shelf with cabinets above.  A flat screen TV is secured to the main bulkhead forward of the dinette.  A deluxe stereo systems and DVD player are located in the aft, port side cabinet above the settee.  Four reading lights, two cabin fans and two lee cloths complete this space.

LIAHONA’s U-shaped galley is aft and to starboard of the main salon. Mahogany fiddles surround the white Corian countertop. Under the forward outboard end of the counter are a bread board, four drawers for utensils and a small locker. The Force 10 two burner propane stove and oven with stainless steel crash bar is just aft. A wide locker below the stove provides storage for pots and pans. A white laminate insert covers the stovetop when not in use, providing additional counter space. Outboard along the hull side, four sliding door cabinets provide storage for dishes and pantry items. Storage on the shelves in the upper lockers may be customized with removable pegs. Below the counter aft is the large top opening fridge with shelf and compartment light. Inset aft is the Sharpe microwave oven. The two-bin stainless steel sink is located inboard. Hot and cold pressure water is available. A spice rack is mounted on the bulkhead aft. Above, two cabinets with shelves and customizable dividers provide great storage for dishes. Additional storage is available in a locker below the sink and under the forward inboard end of the galley counter. Galley features include: Top opening refrigerator box Top opening freezer box, Sharpe microwave oven, Force 10 two burner gimbaled stove with oven and broiler, electric propane shut off valve and alarm, and white Corian countertops with Corian sink covers.

To port is the large, forward facing navigation station. The wide chart table allows plenty of room to spread out charts and other navigation equipment. A deep space below the lifting top provides excellent storage. The Apple monitor, Nobletec PC navigation system, Raymarine GPS, and Icom VH, are mounted in the aft facing shelf above the table. Four drawers and a small locker are located below the table on the forward inboard end. Storage is also available in a lift top locker below the armrest outboard and under the hinged navigator’s seat. A locker forward under the nav table provides additional storage space.

Aft of the navigation station is a true walk through passageway to the aft cabin with a large, lighted wet locker and storage cabinets outboard. Along the inboard side, double rubber sealed doors open to the engine room. Above is a small shelf with two bookshelves above.  The switch/breaker panel and electrical system controls are located inboard at the forward end of this passageway.

The passageway terminates in the aft stateroom, where accommodations are a comfortable double berth to starboard with sofa to port.  The mattress is sprung, divided and fitted with lee cloths.  A customs Mahogany bookshelf is located above the bunk on the forward bulkhead. Outboard and forward of the sofa is a tall, lighted hanging locker and a shelf with locker outboard and drawers below. A Raymarine ST60 Multifunction display is mounted nearby to provide the skipper with data while at anchor or under way. Aft along the hull side are two lockers separated by a bookshelf that stretches to the aft end of the cabin. This arrangement is mirrored on the starboard side of the berth. Vented storage is available below the berth. A bureau with locker below and mirror above is located at the forward end of the cabin.  A dedicated air conditioning system is located in this locker.  Two Hella turbo fans and reading lights over the bunk complete this space.

The ensuite head with separate shower is forward and to starboard. Outboard to starboard are the counter with porcelain sink and single lever faucet. Storage is available in a large locker below and sliding door cabinets above and outboard. A mirror is mounted on the bulkhead aft. The Jabsco electric flush head is aft at the inboard end of the compartment. A teak grate covers the floor. Forward and outboard is the separate shower stall with folding plexiglass enclosure. A single lever controls the articulating shower wand mounted on the forward bulkhead. Outboard of the shower, a massive locker provides fantastic storage. Smooth white fiberglass and laminate surfaces are easy to maintain.

SAILS & RIGGING

LIAHONA is a true pushbutton boat and is capable of being sailed from the cockpit.  Her hydraulic-in mast mainsail, hydraulic genoa furling, and powered winches make sailing easy for even the slightest crewmember.  She has a five full length vertical battens in the mainsail and molded North Marathon 3DL genoa for optimal sailing performance.  A furling cruising spinnaker deploys on a removable bowsprit for fun and fast off-wind performance.  Or a symmetric spinnaker with dousing sock will allow sailing deep downwind angles.  A carbon fiber whisker pole is light as a feather and stores on and adjustable mast-mounted car.
