Fitted with original Volvo Penta 2001, single cylinder marine diesel with Volvo saildrive gearbox. Engine fitted within a sound insulated boxed compartment below companionway steps, with top section of box removed access around the engine and gearbox is excellent for all maintenance requirements.
Sail drive hull diaphragm replaced professionally in 2009. Inlet sea cock replaced at same time.
Ship batteries comprise of
2 x 75Ah deep cycle lead acid batteries, fitted new 2007.
Both batteries secured in lidded plastic boxes within locker at aft end of heads compartment.

On Deck

The shape of the coachroof moulding is very similar to the larger models in the Maxi range and is designed in the same practical manner with plenty of security for crew going forward and a deep cockpit to provide protection while on passage. The foredeck is clear of obstruction apart from the Lofrans vertical windlass which was fitted new in 2009. The windlass is full electric with foot controls on the foredeck and an additional control station by the engine controls in the cockpit, ideal for single handed operation.

Moving aft the coachroof rises up with the deck stepped mast just aft of a large foredeck hatch. Lines are lead aft along the coachroof top to a bank of clutches and the halyard winches under the sprayhood. The side decks are wide enough to allow easy passage around the boat for crew. The genoa tracks run inboard of the shrouds leaving the rest of the decks clear under foot.

The cockpit is comparatively large for a boat of this size with a good deep coaming providing protection and support for crew while on passage. The cockpit is finished with teak decking on the seats and sole. The main-sheet track runs through the middle of the cockpit, the main-sheet can be secured outboard if required to clear the cockpit and provide uncluttered space on deck for relaxing or entertaining. Storage is provided in a single large locker under the starboard seating, this locker is of an ample size to cater for all storage requirements. The cockpit is open to the transom with a drop in washboard separating the cockpit and bathing platform when required. This open arrangement allows very easy access for anybody boarding from the bathing platform. An additional small locker is provided under the bathing platform which would have been the boats anchor locker when sailing in the Baltic.

Below Decks

Below decks the open plan layout makes the boat feel much larger than her 7m waterline. The interior is flooded with light throughout from the large port lights and foredeck hatch.

Accommodation is provided for 4 adults and the manufacturer suggest the very forward V-section provides two children's berths however with the back rest in the storage position this area creates a great sized and practical double berth. The saloon table which doubles as the chart table, is sufficiently sized to cater for a crew of four and is mounted midships around the mast compression post.

The separate heads compartment lies to starboard just forward of the companionway. Constructed from a single off white coloured GRP moulding with timber trims the compartment again feels very light and is easily cleaned while of a practical size. The compartment provides a sea toilet, sink with pressurised cold water faucet and vanity unit. A small hanging area is provided at the aft end for foul weather gear.

A compact galley area is well appointed for this size of boat and allows the ships cook sufficient space to cater for a full crew. The boat benefits from having an Origo spirit fuel stove fitted meaning the danger of gas has been removed. The galley provides a stainless steel lined cool box, stainless steel sink and a good range of storage over a selection of drawers and lockers.

The double aft bunk is of a good size for two adults to use with good access through the galley area.
