Accommodations

The Catalina 30 design is 1st in class for spaciousness & accommodations. The boat has over 6' of headroom throughout the cabin. In the forepeak is a private stateroom with a large double, in a V-berth configuration. Just aft to port, is the head with a sink and a hand held shower. Opposite is a hanging locker, and storage drawers. This layout has the optional, and desirable dinette with fold up table to the bulkhead to port with a settee to starboard. The dinette can convert to a bed, and the settee can accommodate an extra guest as well. At the aft end of the salon is the galley to port and a nav table opposite. A sizable double quarter berth is in the stern. For additional cruising comfort this yacht is equipped with an independent forced air diesel cabin furnace.

Galley

The U-shaped galley is situated just to starboard of the companionway. There is good light, ventilation, and easy passing to the cockpit or dinette. The galley is outfitted with a two burner Seaward propane stove and oven. She has a double stainless steel sink with hot & cold pressurized water. She has a six gallon hot water heater with a heat exchanger from the engine as well as an AC element. Nice additions to this yacht include her Adler Barbour refrigerated ice box. Storage is supplemented by ample space outboard and behind the dinette and settee.

Engine

This yacht is powered by the venerable Universal M-18 diesel. She is fresh water cooled, and cruises comfortably at 5 knots. The engine was overhauled in 2009. Many engine parts were replaced and a new Oberdorfer cooling water pump was installed in 2013.

Deck

The Catalina 30 Mark II incorporates numerous improvements over the earlier Mark I. These include the T-Cockpit with Edson pedestal steering, a flat cabin sole with over 6' of headroom, a flat track traveler mounted forward of the companionway, & all lines lead aft with internal halyards. The exterior has slightly less of the classic teak trim, which requires less maintenance.

Along with her Edson pedestal steering system, she has a traditional binnacle compass, guard brake, and pedestal mounted engine controls. A canvas dodger protects the companionway from rain. The winches are Lewmar self-tailing. Primaries are 40 ST, the halyard winches are 16ST. Lewmar sheet stoppers are mounted on the coach roof for the lines run to the cockpit.

The ground tackle consists of a two Danforth anchors, a 16 and 20lb. She also comes with a teak cockpit table.
