Please call owner Jim at 410-544-3610. Boat Location: Severna Park, Maryland. PY
Fubbs. This 35' Custom Aluminum Paddle Yacht is a real head-turner. I
have never been out without pictures being taken from almost everyone
that sees her. The yellow and white striped Surrey top and steam
whistle make it more fun. This is the most maneuverable boat I have ever
run and is great fun to drive. The LOA is 35'-6" with 12'-6" beam and
less than 2' draft. The Cummins diesel powers two hydraulic pumps that
control the side-wheels which have 9 "Feathered Bucket" articulated
paddles. The PY Fubbs cruises easily at 10 Knots burning very little
fuel, about 2 gallons per hour. The 2 fuel tanks are 40 gallons each.
The forward cabin has 2 twin size berths, shower, sink and Porti-Poti
head. The water tanks hold 42 gallons. The back cabin galley has a sink
as well. There are 3 batteries, 2 for the engine start and 1 House
battery with room and wiring for a 2nd house if desired. There are no
through hull water pickups so it is easy to winterize. The engine and
hydraulic system are cooled with two Cast aluminum keel coolers. The PY
Fubbs is currently in Maryland. The PY Fubbs was built in 1987 as a
one-off custom design by Tucker Marine in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was
designed to be the fastest paddlewheeler on the Western Rivers and has
never lost a paddlewheel race. The Paddle Yacht has been on the
Cheasapeake since 1996 and is currently owned by Jim and Christy Wilson
and kept on the Magothy River. The Paddle Yacht Fubbs is 35'6 long
with a beam of 126, a draft of 21 and constructed entirely of
Aluminum. She is powered by a single 180 HP Cummins diesel that drives
two Hydraulic pumps. Each Sidewheel is driven by its own Hydraulic
Motor. The 9 bucket Paddlewheels are Feathering Buckets that articulate
to maximize the power as they pull through the water. Cruising speed is
10 with maximum Speed about 13+. Foreward are two twin berths, a head,
shower and sink and in the aft cabin a galley sink and counters. The air
horn is reminiscent of a steam whistle and very fitting for the boat.
It is often seen cruising around the Magothy River or Annapolis and has been in several parades in Baltimore. PY
