Interior Accommodations
SWANSONG is an Mark I Swan 46 with a 2–cabin layout. The aft cabin has a centerline double bed and en-suite head compartment. The galley is to port of the companionway and the navigation station is opposite to starboard. There are two pilot berths & two settee berths in the salon. The forward cabin has a separate head and two upholstered pipe berths. SWANSONG’s interior is beautifully finished in the highest quality components in the typical style of Nautor Swan. The interior finish is Nautor’s “Golden Brown” hand rubbed, satin varnished teak. The cabin sole is varnished teak & holly. Her interior is in excellent condition. All panels lift to reveal convenient access to areas under foot. Her headliner is white vinyl panels with teak trim. Her layout is well conceived for both serious offshore sailing, entertaining and living aboard - her interior has a spacious feel, but a good handhold is never too far away. Ventilation is excellent, provided by numerous hatches, opening ports and Hella turbo fans in each cabin. The master stateroom features a centerline double berth with curved settees on each side. There are two brass flexible halogen readings lights at the head of the berth. There are lockers and drawers port & starboard with plenty of storage space. There is a brass clock, two LED high/low overhead lights and a fluorescent over mirror. A B&G repeater instrument is located above the berth. A large port opens to the aft cockpit for easy communication & food passage. A teak fold-away table for aft cockpit & custom buffet table are located below bedroom mirror. Curtains, two Hella fans, and removable bug screens are included. An en-suite toilet compartment features a Baby Blake head, wash basin, and hand held shower. Medicine cabinets, two large mirrors, and teak floor grating complete the set-up, as well as curtains, bug screens, and a Hella fan. The galley is located in the passageway forward from the master stateroom. The aft end of the counter is a stainless countertop with molded stainless steel sinks, a one hand faucet and drying racks above. There is a chest of drawers for utensils, teak breadboard, two storage areas behind stove, and large pantry over the engine compartment inboard. Forward is the Force 10 4-burner propane cooktop and oven. A custom teak prep or cutting board is fitted on the cooktop. There is an extractor fan and light over the cooktop. Refrigeration is a hold over system with compressors belted off the main engine and also 110v. The front loading chest level refrigerator is 4.6 cubic feet. A 6.2 cubic foot top opening freezer is located below, with bin system for easy access. Forward, a garbage bin hinges for easy access. The salon is roomy, with a U-shaped settee located on the port side and a straight settee to starboard. The settees are upholstered in off-white leather and include a set of canvas crew covers. Curtains throughout are in off-white fabric to match. Portlight lenses have been replaced with new Lexan. There are custom 3” thick latex cool-foam mattresses on both pilot berths outboard of the settees. There is storage outboard of the settee seathabcks. A folding teak dining table on centerline accommodates 6-8 people. There is wine storage beneath the table and a liquor locker is located forward to starboard. A 42” flat screen TV is mounted on forward bulkhead with all wiring encased in a custom chase. There are two Hella fans & two brass halogen reading lights. The hatch overhead has a bug screen. Entertainment includes: Sony stereo, (2) ADS speakers in Salon, (2) speakers in aft cabin, & Nakamichi sub-woofer. A Chelsea brass clock and barometer are mounted on the bulkhead and there are four LED domes with high/low switches. The forward cabin features two pipe berths which have been modified with a teak insert under the 3” latex cool-foam mattresses to provide a more comfortable berth. An opening hatch with bug screen is above & teak battens line the hull above the berths. There is an LED high/low dome light, reading lights, two Hella fans, hanging nets for storage. A swim/boarding ladder is stowed against the aft bulkhead. A large bank of lockers and shelves is located to starboard. Opposite, the forward head has a Baby Blake toilet, and wash basin with hand held shower. The compartment is finished in an easily maintained white molded shower pan with teak sole grating. There is a Hella fan, LED high/low dome light, large mirror, solar gray hatch w/bug screen. A door provides privacy from the main salon.

Deck & Hull
Typical of Nautor’s Swan, SWANSONG’S fiberglass hull and deck are beautifully finished. Her hull is hand laid fiberglass in polyester resin with the highest quality gelcoat which remains in excellent condition There is a blue molded cove stripe and a blue boot stripe. Her keel is cast lead with stainless bolts. The underbody configuration features moderate deadrise with a fin keel and spade rudder. Her deck is fiberglass with foam core. Her teak deck was replaced in 2013 and is in beautiful condition. An anodized aluminum toe rail surrounds the deck and mechanically fastens the deck to the hull. Double lifelines with stainless steel stanchions, pulpit and pushpit surround the deck. She features a “wedge deck” type cabin house with ample flat spaces and side decks for moving about. Her double cockpit configuration provides space for lots of guests or a racing crew. The companionway to the main cabin is accessed through the forward cockpit, protected by an Iversen dodger with sturdy handholds. The wheel and engine controls are located at the aft cockpit, along with full instrumentation in a custom teak enclosure - dual daylight readable PC monitors, B&G repeater displays, B&G autopilot with remote and a VHF RAM mic. The aft cockpit may be completely enclosed with side curtains for the Iversen dodger and bimini. Refit Details
In 2013, SWANSONG received a new teak deck at Emerald Marine in Anacortes. The deck is vacuum bagged, meaning no fasteners attaching the teak planking to the subdeck. At this time, the deck layout was reconfigured and modernized with a new mast collar, halyard clutches, winch placement and genoa tracks. At the same time her spars were inspected and she received new standing and running rigging. Lifeline stanchions were replaced, along with the lifelines, turnbuckles and pelican hooks. All hatch lenses and four salon windows received new Lexan lenses.
