The Bayfield 29 was designed by H.T. Gozzard before he started his own company.  Very high quality build with a very unique design.  From the location of the head in the bow, to the bulkheads designed with a vertical "pocket door" design. This wonderful design, opens up the interior of the boat for light and ventilation, yet allows privacy when desired.

Forward of the head, is access to the anchor locker and a large storage area.  There are built-in lockers on both port, starboard and forward sides of the head.  The woodwork is beautiful with ventilation carved into each door in the shape of a traditional fisherman's anchor.  All 6 of the ports open, an unusual feature on many boats.

The head is actually located in the bow.  It is a great use of the space and is large and roomy. It actually adds lots of storage and a seating area to the boat, as well as helping give an open feeling to the interior.

Next aft is the salon.  There is a folding centerline table, with settees on both sides of the salon. The table has storage in the center for silverware and wine.

There is a single settee on each side of the salon, with the ability to extend the starboard settee to form a double berth.  Above and behind each of the settees is more built-in cabinetry.  Secure, useful and traditional.

The bulkheads are uniquely designed to open up the entire interior of the boat.  The top half of the bulkheads slide down into the lower half like a pocket door.  The interior opens up into one large space for great light and air.

Aft of the bulkheads on the starboard side is the L-shaped galley. She has a single S.S. sink along the bulkhead, wrapping to starboard with the stove and then counterspace. An extension at the aft end of the counter, fold up or down as needed.  There is a quarter aft along the starboard quarter.   Behind the stove is the electrical control panel, and more storage with sliding doors.

To port starting aft of the bulkhead, is the nav station.  The icebox is within the counter, and aft of the nav is a nicely sized quarterberth.  The front section of the berth can be lifted out, to make a comfortable seat for the nav station.
