Interior Accommodations

The FUJI 40’s interior is one of the most spacious and well-conceived of any vessel size. An amply sized galley, large salon with centerline drop leaf table and pilot berth, and two private cabins easily accommodates two couples, with sleeping arrangements for eight in a pinch.

The forward stateroom features a V-berth with ample storage beneath. There is a series of five drawers and a locker aft and to port. Small open lockers also run along the hull sides above the berth. A massive hanging locker is located aft and to port in the passageway to the salon.

The head is aft of the forward stateroom to starboard. The compartment is finished in easy to maintain white surfaces with teak trim for low maintenance. There is a Jabsco manual head that faces inboard. A counter runs along the forward end of the compartment with hot/cold pressure water and sink. Mirrored lockers are located above and there is ample storage in numerous lockers and open shelves.

The salon is next aft. There are straight settees to port and starboard alongside a fixed drop leaf table on centerline. The table easily accommodates six to eight for dinner and has built-in storage. A Dickinson Antarctic diesel heater is located forward to starboard near the mast. The settee to starboard has storage outboard behind the seatbacks and narrow shelves above. An infill makes this starboard settee into a larger berth. To port, there is a straight settee with pilot berth outboard and a massive amount of storage space behind the seats.

The galley is at the aft port corner of the salon. A U-shaped counter is surrounded by teak fiddles. The Force 10 propane stove is located outboard. At the forward end of the counter there is a sink with pressure hot/cold water and foot pump raw and fresh water. A deep dry storage locker is located outboard beneath the counter. At the aft end of the galley there is a deep top loading fridge and top loading dry storage locker. Five small drawers are located beneath the counter and there is clever open storage for dishes, mugs and cups above. An array of lockers and drawers is located outboard of the stove.

The navigation station is located adjacent the companionway to starboard in the passageway to the aft stateroom. A large navigators table lifts to reveal storage beneath. There are open shelves outboard and a number of smaller drawers and lockers for equipment, including round tube storage for rolled charts.

The large aft stateroom is an impressively sized cabin for a 40 foot aft cockpit boat. A double berth is located to port and a single to starboard with drawers and lockers beneath and open lockers above along the hull side. Additionally, there are four large drawers aft at centerline and a large hanging locker and smaller locker forward.
